MANHATTAN, KAN. ----- A Kansas State student from De Soto, Kan., has achieved membership in the school's Multicultural Student Honor Society.
Lizbeth Valenzuela, a senior at Kansas State, is one of the new members.
"The Multicultural Student Honor Society was founded in 1999 to honor multicultural students who have been successful academically at the university," said Carla Jones, assistant vice president and senior associate dean of students. The special honor society is one of only a few such organizations in the nation with this specific purpose, and the K-State organization stands as the model for other universities."
Students must have a grade point average of at least 3.0 to be considered for membership.
